Committees
tthurow@bbvchamber.com A great way to get involved in the Bentonville/Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce is through committee work and volunteering.
Ambassadors: The Ambassadors Committee provides outreach and support to Chamber members through direct contact. Members of the committee find their contacts with members to be beneficial in growing their own base of potential new customers. Ambassadors attend weekly ribbon cuttings, greet members at networking events, attend new member orientations, and refer potential members to the chamber staff. This committee is active year round and attends a quarterly luncheon. Staff Contact: Tammy Thurow
Arts & Business Council - The Arts & Business Council of NWA helps drive the cultural vitality and economic
development of the Northwest Arkansas Region by strengthening the partnership between the Chamber, business and the arts and cultural community. Staff Contact: Ed Clifford
Chamber Resource Council - is a program that has proven to dramatically increase revenues, grow membership and develop organizational leadership. Members benefit from increased business and community awareness. The community benefits from accelerated growth created by successful well-funded Chamber programs. Staff Contact: Tammy Thurow
Education Committee: The Education Committee meets monthly, or as needed. “The Mission of the Bentonville/Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce Education Committee is to integrate the business community with the goals and needs of Public Education both K-12 and Post Secondary in the Bentonville/Bella Vista area.” Members of the business community work together with administrators, faculty and staff of the Bentonville School District and NorthWest Arkansas Community College to help build a bridge between education and business. This committee is by invitation. Staff Contact: Krista Khone
Golf Tournament: This committee plans the Chamber’s annual golf tournament held in the spring. The committee begins meeting in January and meets every month until the tournament. One follow-up meeting is held at the conclusion of the tournament. Staff Contact: Tammy Thurow
Membership Committee: Providing member services to increase and maintain business membership throughout the local community. This committee meets monthly to discuss membership ideas. Staff Contact: Tammy Thurow
NWA Business Women’s Conference Committee: This committee plans the annual NWA Business Women’s Conference that is held each September. The committee begins meeting in November and meets monthly until the event. There are several sub-committees including marketing, sponsorship, registration, goody bags and speaker.

Small Business Council: The Small Business Council is a diverse group of passionate entrepreneurs who act as a catalyst and a voice for small business; integrating the skills and relationships of the Chamber and its member/investors by igniting the imagination and creativity of the small business owners into participative action. Special Events Committee - This group provides support in planning most events at the Chamber. Group meets as needed. Staff Contact: Tammy Thurow
Urban Summit Series - is designed to meet the needs of area businesses and to help them thrive. The series will provide a powerful and cost-effective way to showcase your business and focus on relevant topics that are important to business leaders. The Summit is all about education & interaction—sharing ideas, learning new techniques, expanding relationships, creating visibility and establishing new customers. The committee helps in planning these events. Staff contact: Nancy Desler
WalStreet Committee - This committee is represented by different suppliers and third party companies that are members of the Chamber and serve the Wal-Mart/Sam’s community. The purpose of the committee is to guide the direction of the programs of the WalStreet (supplier) events of the Chamber and provide input for the programs and to remain relevant to business and industry needs.
